20 points and 12 rebounds for Marcin Gortat

A great performance by Marcin Gortat, who was the second scorer and the best rebounder on his team wasn’t enough to help Phoenix win another game. The Suns lost to Sacramento Kings 113:108. Marcin in 34 minutes of game time made 6 out of 9 two point shots. He also had an impressive percentage from the free throw line (8/8). To his 20 points he also added 12 rebounds, three blocks, one steal and one turnover.

Unfortunately Marcin Gortat didn’t have the chance to pay Andrew Bogut back, for the center from Australia suffers from an injury, and couldn’t play in the yesterdays game. However, Marcin should be satisfied with his performance. First of all, Phoenix Suns won with Milwaukee Bucks 92:77, thus extending their winning streak to three wins in a row. Secondly, Marcin scored the most points in the game and had a double double for the third time in a row! Marcin has scored 19 points and grabbed 11 rebounds. He also had one assist, two blocks and two turnovers.

Początek meczu Washington Wizards z Orlando Magic nie wskazywał na to, że jego losy będą rozstrzygać się w ostatnich sekundach. “Magicy” szybko zbudowali przewagę, którą spokojnie zachowywali aż do trzeciej kwarty, ale wtedy dali o sobie znać Gilbert Arenas i Nick Young. Łącznie zdobyli ponad 50 punktów i doprowadzili do emocjonującej końcówki, w której celną dobitką rzutu Nelsona, wynik 100:99 ustalił Dwight Howard.

11. zwycięstwo w sezonie

W drugim z rzędu meczu bez kontuzjowanego Vince’a Cartera Magic odnieśli kolejne zwycięstwo, pokonując 111 do 100 Cleveland Cavaliers. Po raz kolejny wysoką formę zaprezentował duet liderów: Jameer Nelson i Dwight Howard, a także wnoszący wiele energii z ławki, Brandon Bass. Marcin Gortat grał 13 minut i zanotował 2 punkty, 4 zbiórki i asystę.

Dla kibiców z Florydy zwycięstwo w derbach regionu to sprawa honoru i tym razem swoich fanów nie zawiedli Orlando Magic, którzy zrewanżowali się za ostatnią porażkę Miami Heat. Rekord asyst (14) zanotował Jameer Nelson, który świetnie napędzał grę Magic i poprowadził ich do wygranej 104:95. 10 minut na parkiecie spędził Marcin Gortat, który zanotował 2 punkty, 2 zbiórki, blok.

Marcin for the obvious reasons couldn’t participate in the ceremony so the award was received by his mother Alicja Gortat, who said “I am the happiest mother in Poland! I would like to thank everyone who voted for Marcin! This reward is obliging! My son has great plans with our city, and I know that he will make them come true!”
